Orchestra

MUSIC 101 - The Musical Experience

Instructor - Lawrence Earp

Average GPA - 3.46

-----------------------------------------------------

frankly, this is the second time in my life that i ever learn music in a very formal way...the first time is when i was in standard 4 (flute)...

Mozart

now, it's getting even more complicated...mozart, bach, tchaikovsky...these 3 are just a part of a lot more to come from an assembly of true maestro(es) and the masters of all musicians...

Tchaikovsky

luckly, during the winter break, i accidentally watched a japanese drama with the title "nodame cantabile" which is about a man who wants to be the greatest maestro (someone who conducts an orchestra) and a girl who wants to be as the piano solo in any orchestra...

nodame cantabile helps me a lot in giving me a way to understand classical music...i might as well get attached to mozart and the gang from now on... :)

Change

regarding my plan to continue with 18 freaking credits has a major drawback...

with 4-flat mission for this semester, i could not but cancel a few classes...however, in return i have to take some classes to make up for the lost credit hour...

calculus and geography is indeed two bloody dangerous subjects...with both totaling 8 credit hours, even an AB or a B can pull my GPA down a LOT! thats why i have to dump them in order to pull up my not-so-great gpa last semester...thou' currently by the time i was typing this post that i have 14 credit hour, but all of them are within my range of getting an A...

well, this shows how quantity does not mean...sigh...gotta learn to plan in more detail for the next semester...

Last Action Hero

finally, i actually finalized my spring schedule for the spring semester the night before the first day of school...

i took the same professor for calculus II as i was just getting used to her spanish accent and motherly way of teaching...

this semester SHOULD be interesting...all 5 subjects that i enrolled into cover 5 different learning fields:

CALCULUS II
INTRO TO COMPUTER ENGINEERING
ECONOMICS
GEOGRAPHY
ASIAN CULTURAL STUDIES

most of them were chosen at the last nick of time before the start of the semester...either these subjects will make me a hero or not? we'll see...we'll see...muehehehe (evil grin)

Chi-ca-go

chicago, one of the few major cities that people all over the world want to at least set an inch of their foot on, is after all not all heaven and no hell pit...read on, i'll tell ya' on the way...

first thing to keep in mind, never ever ever think about going to chicago during winter...dont even plan about going there either...while the temperature might fall to -7C, however the real temperature is wayyyy colder! my guess? -20C...at least...what does it feel like? try to put a piece of metal in the freezer overnight, and then put it into contact with your cheek...the same pain but not only on the cheek, but all over the body...

the metro bus system here is as expected of the metropolis city...it will get you to wherever you want to go...but the bus driver ain't that friendly...you'll have to rely on google map and gps...
