Eugene....a devil in disguise...

Now it comes to writing about my own class...Eugene...the 5th class among 13 classes in ADFP...the first 4 classes are labelled as the elite classes while starting from my class will be the ‘lower’ classes (not according to me only...but also majority of students from the ‘lower’ classes)...
I, at first, keep a low profile of myself while observing the people around me...for me, i need to trust people before i can befriend them...so it’s quite late when i can mingle around with them...they, my classmates are in fact very friendly and sporting...their behaviour beats their ‘suci’ looks...hehe...

The most obvious person to have changed after mingling with me and syazwan would be CEDRIC a.k.a CECE...haha...he’s our sporting, outgoing, simple, friendly class rep...a genius in disguise, he’s transforming from a ‘muka buku’ to a more cool person...he even got addicted to DOTA* which he at first condemned...furthermore, he’s exceptionally a great help for me in improving my precalculus skills...he came from kampong area in Melaka, so he’s not like many high standard Chinese / Eurasian...very friendly regardless of the races...he even joined my gang to play dota till late at night!! Haha...sometimes we even go through sleepless night just to play DOTA against people from room level 5...hehe...

Syazwan a.k.a Juan is a cheeky guy with funny jokes everytime you talk to him...easy to mingle with, he’s in fact one year younger than me...his age is a contrast to his brain, which is very brilliant!! His precalculus skill is among the best in the class...haha...he also always kene hentam by our gang due to his scandal with ______ ...eheh..jgn marah aku eh juan eh?...he’s a very peramah person...i was awestruck by his communication skill among the people...for example, he helped us to reduce the taxi fare by chatting with the taxi driver...he’s very useful to be around...eheh...

“Talhah! Talhah ! Talhah!” ... that’s the trademark motto for my friend...talhah by name, romantic by his words...everytime i heard him chatting with anyone in his cellphone, he will talk in romantic manner...very tender and clear voice...hhaha...not to aweks lar...to his mom and family...he is a very fluent English speaker, provided that he had lived in UK for several years...very studious and also playful...one of the Genius student in my class...very outgoing but pity him, his parents keep a strict eye on him so he cannot go out easily during semester break...huhu...but he secretly hangout with us outside cendana and he even also travelled to KL by himself...salute!!! Live life free, Talhah!!.. (^-^)

Acap and Raja are two people with opposite mind...they always argue playfully about almost everything... “anda silap!” or “bias!” is some of the trademark sentences when they argue...they entertained the class to no end with their behaviour...hahah...

Amir and azreen...two cool looking guys in my class...amir matured looks goes beyond his young age...people even mistaken him to be at the same age as the rest of us...meanwhile for azreen, a pro DOTA player in disguise, keep an ultimate low profile among us in the class...he only smile and say simple words to reply our question...very shy guy, but he changed a bit through the end of the semester...he became more friendly and talkative...heh...nice...(^-^)

Afiq and yameen...two quiet guys...Afiq’s famous for his utara slang...a mathematical prodigy, Afiq is the best at precalculus in our class...yameen, a specky guy, who used to be pro in DOTA long ago...an enthuasiastic speaker when debating, he expresses his emotions whenever he is attacked from the oppositions in a debate...haha...makes me remember a moment when a debate almost evolve into a big argument....

not to forget, amin and akif!! These two always sit next together in the class...amin is a very interesting speaker (used to joined school debates... 0_0) and everything he wears is always stylish as he loves fashion...normally, guys who are into fashion are sotong type right? But not him...he is just like an average joe, Terengganu mari...Akif on the other hand, lives just around the corner of cendana...thanks to him, we can enjoy open house at his place...i’ll remember those moments forever...thanks akif...(^-^)

Four ayu malay girls sitting in the front – atikah, feeza, zuhra, and aisyah always have their agenda...a constant noisemaker in the class whenever the lecturers are not in, they are also very friendly...based on my espionage and data collecting, 2 of them are taken already (sorry guys) at the moment this entry is uploaded....cannot tell you la which one...you just have to ask yourself... (>.<)

Yasmin, Alia, and Zahirah...another 3 more ecstatic malay girls in my class...they are the primary source for noises in our class (sorry girls..hehe)...yasmin is our little sister in our class...so easy to kenekan...playful like a small girl...reminds me of a friend i used to have in my secondary school...(>.<)...Alia and Zahirah are two loudspeaker of the class...very energetic and ecstatic in nature, they both are very good at collecting gossip...they also are avid fan of Gossip Girl (this story even attracted some of the guys in our class to watch it...ugh).... (>.<) Paremala, the only indian girl in the class...verry very outspoken when given the chance to speak...her name always be mispronounced by acap; "Para"...she's one of the best student in the class too...

Last but not least, the 3 nice chinese girls in my class...Hui Ping, Peng, Su San, and Wong...hui ping is a quiet type of girl though...but she does her job with much responsibility...although it is quite hard to make her feel accepted in our ‘gila-gila’ group, but she is still a friendly girl once you know her closer...Peng, a slim and tall girl that has been associated with one of the guys in our class...heheh...i’ll keep it as a secret, but it looks like this secret won’t hold intact long...she is a genius in our class too like Afiq...Su San, a pure genius....excels in both math and English...a fluent speaker and very shy in nature...when she speaks, only soft, soothing voice will come out of her mouth...Wong, the only slanged speaker in our class...she talks like an American already...i love it when she pronounce the word “and” with her own style...hahah...(^-^)

You all are great friends to me...i shall mesmerize the memories i had with you people...peace...(^-^)

ADFP...AllDayFunAndPlay...punch in the face to who said this to you...

Before i entered INTEC for ADFP(American Degree Foundation Program) , all i know is that ADFP stands for All Day Fun And Play according from the seniors... I trusted them for a while...but not now...ADFP in my opinion, is the second most hectic preparation program in INTEC after AUSMAT!!

i almost forgot to tell you that, during your stay in INTEC, you’ll get involved with countless presentations...be prepared to hone your confidence before you enter INTEC...don’t worry too much though, as your confidence will increase over time...just try to stand out of the crowd and show to others that you are special...

The subject for the 1st semester is few though...only Islamic Studies, Language Awareness, Reading, Writing, and the brain-squishing precalculus, SAT, and TOEFL...
For Islamic studies, you don’t have to buy books from the seniors first as the lecturer may be using different book...just wait for the lecturer to announce which book you should buy...for anyone who had taken Tasawwur Islam during SPM, this subject is almost the same...only Tasawwur is broader...

Language Awareness...also known as grammar studies...this subject will hone your grammatical efficiency as well as your confidence when presenting in front of the class...the topic ranged from noun, verb, adverb, tenses, to modifiers...quite easy if you managed to get the grip of the logic of English grammar...this subject is the easiest to score among other subjects (for me...huhu).

Reading...the first time when i heard that i’ll be learning reading subject, I laughed till my stomach almost exploded...hahah...too hyperbolic i guess...i thought that i’ll be reading A B C again...hehe ...ok..this subject actually helps you to read better, especially long and complicated articles...if you are a regular TIME MAGAZINE or NAT-GEO MAG reader, then this subject will be easy for you...Reading and Language Awareness have some similarities...if you are good at LA, then you’ll do good for reading...

SAT...the class to help you in getting the grip of what an American-standard test will be...SAT classes wont be counted in your credit hours for your CGPA...you’ll be provided with hundreds of new lexicon (vocabulary) and jargons...but they’ll put the confusing lexicons in essays...the essays make learning when to use of the lexicons easier...

TOEFL a.k.a sleeping class...TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) will test on reading skill, learning skill, speaking skill, and writing skill...each of these subpart of the TOEFL carries 30 marks, which will add up to the whole score of 120...79 is the minimum for you to fly...at first, this subject is very interesting as you’ll be learning in a computer lab equipped with internet...in the last part of the semester, it gets more boring...alas, this subject is the perfect time for me to sleep...ZzZzZz...

Writing class will teach you on how to write better of course...not only that, you’ll be required to write a journal or a diary about yourself...(i’m not good at writing diary..sob..)...it is almost the same as writing a blog, but only at different medium...be careful when writing about your dark secrets in your journal as the lecturer might spill out ‘accidentally’ some of your secrets to the whole class...haha...well that’s what happened to me and my friends...

Alas, the ‘subjek penggagal’ of the 1st semester for those who take ADFP – precalculus...most of the students, maybe more than 70% of the students failed to get even B- for this subject...almost alike with AddMath from secondary school, this subject only make the easy thing in addmath harder...even the easy matrices you’ve learnt from your modern math when it comes to precalculus, will be WAY harder...

Guide to explore shah alam

Shah alam may seem like a dormant city, but in reality it’s not. This city has lots to offer but it also has some lacks in feature, unlike other major city such as JB, Kuantan, KL, etc. You’ll have a lot of money to spare for you to enjoy(unless you buy a laptop using you scholarship money) travelling around this area. Here are some tips to guide you though this city by just RapidKL bus...

a) To get to INTEC from cendana, take bus number T602 and stop at section 2.(you’ll notice in section 2, there is a mcD, UiTM shah alam, and lots of people). Then take bus T529 to INTEC but the bus won’t stop directly in front of INTEC. You’ll have to stop outside the vicinity of INTEC. Quite far though. (>.<) b) To go to PKNS, PAS, or SACC, just take bus T602 is enough.

c) To go to Giant section 18 and MYdin or your girlfriend from akasia, just follow the guide to INTEC. (^-^)

d) To get to KL, go to section 2 by T602 bus, then take bus number U80. You have to pay extra money as the ticket for outside shah alam is rm2.(local fare is just rm1 per day). The bus will stop at KL central.

e) If you want to find computer gadgets or a laptop, i recommend that you just go to PAS, level 3. It’s like a mini Low Yat where a diversity of electronic devices exist there.(my friend can even get better deal at PAS for his laptop than at Low Yat)

f) The food stalls across WetWorld in section 2 offer the cheapest food in shah alam. (one nasi pattaya along with daging paprik cost only rm2.50!!!)

g) Dawood is the best place to lepak2 while having a glass of hot teh tarik kurang manis. The food there...hmm...how should i say....you eat there at your own risk...some of my friends have -stomach ache everytime they eat there...maybe its just them...donno la...the only safe thing to eat there is the roti... (T-T)

h) mcDon a.k.a mak cik indon stalls are situated just a 5~7minutes walk from cendana. The price for the food there is rather cheap...rm3 for rice+chicken+veggies...but the downside of this place is that the hygene...i rather not show you the picture here because it won’t be a surprise for the newcomers...heh

i) if you do not have any broadband modem, just go to CC near 7-11 (for boys in cendana)...the price is cheap...rm1/hour if you bring your own lappy...rm2/hour if you don’t... (0_0)

that’s all i can remember the things i’ve learnt here...for many students, it’s like a culture shock when they have the freedom in their life to do anything they want...my advice is just don’t overspend the money you got from the sponsor (this include the FatherMother Scholarship). Discipline yourself when spending your money. Don’t just satisfy your hunger by eating McDonald all the time(that’s what many rich kid here do)...Be adventurous, don’t be like ‘katak bawah tempurung’...life is short, so live your life to the fullest eventhough we would never know when our life will be at the fullest...

Guide to live a happy life in INTEC

Living in intec is hard at first, well maybe me cuz i never been into boarding school whatsoever, but i manage to get out of the stress unscratched and be a happy person as i am now. Here are some tips to guide you...

a) Food at the AUSMAT cafe is the best. ADFP cafe would be fine for quick breakfast if you don’t mind the quality of the food. But still, AUSMAT cafe is the best at both quality and price.

b) To ensure you don’t get the leftover for you lunch, be at AUSMAT cafe around 11.30~12.00AM as the cafe will serve their 1st lunch at that time.

c) If you are unlucky to get food from AUSMAT cafe, go eat outside. Although eating outside is costlier, but it is worth the money you spend for the taste of the food that a stall outside INTEC is marvellous.(reminds me of my mom’s cooking back home)

d) Never lose your matrix card. You’ll be charged rm30~rm50 for your new card. Plus you’ll get interrogated by the policeman-like person from the unit keselamatan.

e) Prepare yourself before you enter this place with the stuff you learnt from your secondary school. Trust me, you’ll need them back.

*what am i writing here...guide to get happy? hahah...not that happy la...who am i to write this guide? what am I??? warrrgghhhh!!!!!!!! (tekanan emosi...) (0_0)

Cendana...__________(i’ll leave this sentence for you to complete according to your experience)

Hmm...how to elaborate more about this sole place for the guys to get decent sleep...nice room, tiled bathroom & toilet, 2 rooms; one is bigger and fits in 6 people and another fits in 2 people, petronas, McDon*, Dawood, we-sell-everything-double-the-price sundry shop, and a pasar.

Life in cendana is pretty boring but if you are as adventurous as me, you’ll get over with the boredom. The tips to find happiness when living in this isolated-from-society place are simple;

a)don’t just stay in your room, lepak other room also.

b) lepak Dawood, but becareful though they may overcharge you sometime.

c) every weekends, go outing at the plaza alam sentral (PAS) or SACC (other way to say it without juggling your tongue is “SAC-C” or “sexy”)

Intec...one of a kind

Intec, situated in the midst of industrial city shah alam, but surprisingly surrounded by calm and peaceful neighbouring residents.

My first impression of this place beats my initial view of this place; nice school-like style of buildings, huge library, decent cafes, and small campus area. (seriously, i hate to travel around if i’m in large campus)

for the newcomers in the coming years ,i recommend that you should 1st find the washroom before you start exploring other venue in intec. The map for this campus is quite confusing actually at first, but you’ll get accustomed to this place in a short time.
