i love every single element that the movie got; a sprinkle of indie film, and a dash of mainstream movie...

for romantic/comedy/drama genre movie, i really really really recommend this movie aside from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind...

a 10/10 !

last weekend last-minute holiday destination: university of illinois urbana-champaign...

yeah, i miscalculated the cost for this holiday by 2 folds... >.<

UIUC compared to madison, i think it's 4 to 5 times bigger...hell, even the main library has more than 10 levels underground...yeah, under-da-ground! so it's not foolish to say that if you sum up all the books you have in every library in uw-madison, it's not gonna be able to beat the main library of UIUC... :3

on the way back to madison, i drove for the first time in my life...i guess i've covered around 150 miles...almost got hit by a truck, emergency brake, missed an exit...but i guess it's okay for a first timer...

now, back to reality...

saw the same man at the library yesterday...the same like a few days ago...he was using a public computer at a secluded spot in the library...

now, with the fortune i've spent on cleaning the sensor, my ~~cutie~~ D40 can perform even better than before! and it have given me a glimmer of how fun photography is!

i've started to cover back the disney movies from my childhood past...thanks to the media center in my residence hall offering quite a range of DVDs...done watching hercules and alladin...next: lion king / pocahontas / beauty and the beast...

little by little, watching these childish movie bring back the childish element of my alter ego...i can now feel something...but i'm still trying to figure it out...but it rhymes with the line from the OST of hercules "i can go the distance" by micheal bolton: "right where i belong"....

ahh....how i missed the times when people will "makan bola, tido bola, mandi bola"....waking up at 3 in the morning just to watch a slow paced match that has to involve Italy (which seriously is boring to watch 'em play defensively) has its authentic experience...where the next morning, i was like a walking dead because of the lack of energy...

this year will be my first (and my last time?) to enjoy the world cup overseas! i expect to watch the match during the day of course!

one more thing, i might (more like 80% sure) buy two jerseys worth $70 each...both will be for two of my favorite teams. now i'm still ambivalent whether to buy the jerseys with names on them or just plain jerseys. hurm...

Review: Battlefield Bad Company 2

the gameplay for the single player mode is somehow a little lame to me. why? maybe because it is meant to be multiplayer all along... would ragnarok online be addictive if it add up a single player offline mode in its gameplay? NO! same goes here for battlefield bad company 2.

take a look at the picture above, it is as crisp and bright in the game. seriously! normally a game would brag to the customers in the preview by showing realistic graphic. however, they are all fool's gold. but with the mere power of 2.0Ghz core 2 duo and nvidia gtx 260m, i cannot push my rig to get those crisp graphic. sigh. i wonder how would it looked like if i plug in my rig to a HDTV~

sound? heh, get yourself a good 5.1 headphone and you'll save yer ass a lot! the same technique used in counter strike game, the footsteps are the key to sneaking and sorry-i-just-knifed-in-your-head. i just love the background music (BGM) for some of the rush maps. conquest bgm sucks...or it is just me getting bored...heh...

multiplayer games are always fresh. it is not like any single player offline game that you can get a hold of it in just a few tries. thats why i cant let go of my ragnarok addiction when i tried to stop a few years back. the challenges are always new. you'll almost positively wont meet the same opponent each time you get into a new server.

summary:

what more can i say? this game rockz! if you are insisting that modern warfare 2 is waaayyy better than this 'lil gem, then you're wrong. modern warfare2 has it's own strong point such as newbie-friendly gameplay and a SWAT-feeling experience...but if you seek for almost-real war experience, throw away modern warfare 2, get the battlefield bad company 2. it is worth every cent.

phew...i'm still halfway to go to finish up my breakfast+lunch+dinner+supper...

and it's only a friggin' fried shrimp rice from the asian kitchen...

now, eating up the whole menu is a sport for me....and i'm already tired munching those extravagant dose of food....

really, you'll never complain about getting not enough food in US, unlike in malaysia, where you will say: "asal sikit giler nasi dia bagi nih? mok cik, tambah skek nasi...".

one thing for sure, americans do eat a LOT! no wonder they are large.

just watched "closed note" japanese movie, which i would give 5/5 or 9.5/10

it's a "cinta-tak-kesampaian", "one-sided-love", "ghost-of-girlfriend's-past", "perfect-love-but-later-one-dies-another-lives" type of movie. i really love the idea of the movie. the climax is not just that visible. quite a happy but sad ending. another movie star caught my attention aside from erika sawajiri; yuko takeuchi. the ending song to this movie is "love & truth" by my favourite j-pop singer: YUI!

funny thing is that so far i haven't found any hollywood movies that can convey a strong message to the audiences. it's always japanese movies. or maybe it's just me being ignorant to the americans. korean movies? i haven't taken a peek into it just yet.

just spotted the most beautiful korean/pinoy/indon/chinese (@_@) girl while crossing the traffic light and we crossed our eyes for a second...

putting that aside, let me jot down a few of my observation results:

majority of beautiful girls in UW is made up of interracial or international students.
although beautiful girls in UW eat a lot of fast food, they cope up with the fats by walking to class. so they can maintain slim and slender.
pure-blooded indon girls are much more beautiful than malay girl. (though, this is subjective)
although americans are much more friendly than malaysians, but they lack in commitment in relationship.
malaysian verbal jokes hardly work in US...sigh...US (verbal) jokes are somehow lame (to me)...
"Family Guy" cartoon is the best comedy ever! it even makes "The Simpson" look&sound so lame...

these, however are just a few of the whole thing i've discovered...one sentence that i find so catchy:

nodame cantabile helps me a lot in giving me a way to understand classical music...i might as well get attached to mozart and the gang from now on... :)

regarding my plan to continue with 18 freaking credits has a major drawback...

with 4-flat mission for this semester, i could not but cancel a few classes...however, in return i have to take some classes to make up for the lost credit hour...

calculus and geography is indeed two bloody dangerous subjects...with both totaling 8 credit hours, even an AB or a B can pull my GPA down a LOT! thats why i have to dump them in order to pull up my not-so-great gpa last semester...thou' currently by the time i was typing this post that i have 14 credit hour, but all of them are within my range of getting an A...

well, this shows how quantity does not mean...sigh...gotta learn to plan in more detail for the next semester...

chicago, one of the few major cities that people all over the world want to at least set an inch of their foot on, is after all not all heaven and no hell pit...read on, i'll tell ya' on the way...

first thing to keep in mind, never ever ever think about going to chicago during winter...dont even plan about going there either...while the temperature might fall to -7C, however the real temperature is wayyyy colder! my guess? -20C...at least...what does it feel like? try to put a piece of metal in the freezer overnight, and then put it into contact with your cheek...the same pain but not only on the cheek, but all over the body...

the metro bus system here is as expected of the metropolis city...it will get you to wherever you want to go...but the bus driver ain't that friendly...you'll have to rely on google map and gps...

the words above that mugen spoke off are what drove me to be braver...to be frank, i WAS quite of a coward when it comes to facing one of my greatest fear; devils.

ever since i can remember, i was always afraid of the unseen entity...why? maybe because i grew up in a malay community where myths about devils were quite creative indeed; pontianak (dead widow who flies around and seek young man's blood), hantu raya (ghost of eidul-fitr celebration), hantu kopek (ghost of woman with gigantic boobies), and more!

well, not until i tried to search for the reason behind the reason i was afraid of those ghost...thou' it took quite a few years to reason with the you-are-a-ghost-so-i-should-fear-you mentality...the fact that i've been kissed by the devil when i was young (saw a picture of me having black dots on my forehead that is only visible in the photo and someone conclude that i was kissed by the devil) and i lived in a heavily-populated-by-ghosties house back in kuantan were enough to scare the shit out of me...

the house in kuantan where i lived in for about 5 years was full of unexplained phenomenon; sound of scratches and footsteps on the ceiling where if they were originating from cats or birds, i should have heard their sounds because the ceilings were made of thin cardboard...but in this case, i did not hear any cat or bird sound!...and the fact that my mother got sick because of those 'things' really boiled my shit...if only they can materialize into something physical, imma' drag their ass out on the street and kick the shit out of 'em...

when i set my mentality that we humans are made better than those devils, something is making sense. why should i be afraid of something that is of a lower status? instead, i should respect them for they're also one of God's creation. thou i'm still struggling to get rid of the feeling of inferiority to the devils, but at least i'm a lot braver than before...

p/s: even i can be a lot more of a devil than the devil itself...

the sims has taught me a shitload of stuff...one particular to me is the progress in something that is new to me...from developing creativity through house designing process, giving me clue about what's going to happen in the future (death), human socializing (scoot&kiss...preferably make-out kiss) to handling the bladder (i must stand and wet myself up if i cannot hold on to my bladder anymore)...

the sims - where creativity blooms

last night was the first time i ever ice-skate...the thought that bulls-eyed my brain the moment i stepped into the ice ring was a flashback; back towards the moment i tried to learn to ride a 2-wheeled bicycle (okay, i'm sentimental)...every time i fell down on the ice, somehow the pain synchronized with the memory i had falling from the bicycle...

should the girl be the one who proposes? be creative. the other girl can only scratch her buttocks as she says "ahh...they are so romantic~~"

but i am quite a hardheaded or a Grond (those who know me well should know this) when it comes to learning something physically challenging...i learned soccer through 2-hours practice (though i'm not good at it even now), practice bowling till my fingers cannot move, learn lawn bowl while sunbathing till i get dark, and now, ice-skating till my leg hurts (maybe i can blame my skate shoes which is waayyy to wide..)

i would have thought i would freeze...but it's damn hot and i sweat, on ice!

remember the progress bar on top of the sims head when he/she is learning something? maybe my ice-skating skill did not improve more than 10%..hahaha...i wonder if there is any console that i can type cheat codes in real life similar to the sims? haha

setelah lama tidak main street soccer, akhirnya ke-gian-an terbabit dapat dilunaskan pada petang menghampiri malam semalam...walaupun baru elok daripada sakit pinggang, tapi nampaknya sudah sembuh...tapi, sekarang dapat pulak bonus baru...pergelangan kaki pulak sakit disepak dari belakang ketika bermain bola...

malamnya, tanpa dirancang, terjadilah satu movie night pertama di bilik aku...peserta2 nya adalah aku, muyak, qibo, piqa, bella dan yati...movie: paranormal activity - satu movie yang agak kontroversial...bila aku dapat tahu steven speilberg ada kaitan dengan movie ini, perasaan ragu2 mula datang samada cerita benar atau tidak...movie night diakhiri dengan pihak perempuan takut untuk balik ke bilik masing2 di tinggat atas tingkat aku...

pagi (tengah hari bagi kebanyakan org) aku di hari sabtu boleh dikatakan nyaman...suhu di luar hanya 20 celsius...disebabkan matahari di wisconsin amat terik, walaupun 20 celsius tapi aku sudah mula berpeluh (di dalam bilik aku yg ada aircond!!)...mungkin juga aku terjaga kerana makhluk2 disebelah bilik aku sedang melakukan aksi2 ranjang dengan bunyi2 yang explicit...

as one of the insanely abundant homework from my seminar class (1credit but the subject with the most homework), it's just a small quiz on my strengths that have been dormant inside me...thou' i don't really know for sure about the credibility of the quiz (it requires some kinda code to register...my guess is that the seminar paid the website for the code for each people)...but it seems encouraging and credible enough...

Connectedness
-You see that all things happen for a reason. You believe that all things are working together in a purposeful manner.
